HARVEYS AT WINCHESTER MANSIONS
Wine and Dine in
Sea Point
Cape Town has earned
itself a reputation as one of the wine capitals of the world, and Harveys at
Winchester Mansions in trendy Sea Point is making its way to the top as one of
the best food and wine pairing establishments in the city.
Not only has the
restaurant launched its pairing menu, it has also embraced a mini-makeover
involving the introduction of a new breakfast and lunch menu. Now, no matter
what time of the day, guests are able to indulge in Harveys’ ever exquisite
dining with a generous dash of fresh appeal.
Situated along the Sea Point Promenade,
Harveys has long drawn crowds of wine enthusiasts, discerning diners, and art
lovers to its successful Grapes, Gourmet and Gallery (3G) evenings, hosted on a
monthly basis and showcasing three of life’s greatest pleasures. Expanding on
this concept, Harveys is introducing a selection of three-, four- and
five-course menus, specifically paired with excellent Cape wines that can be
enjoyed on any day of the week. Although the menus and featured wines will
rotate to keep the offering fresh, some of the tantalising options that diners
can look forward to include almond crusted kingklip paired with Hartenberg
Chardonnay 2011, bone marrow crusted beef fillet with Creation Syrah 2012, and
real banoffee pie paired with something slightly different – Cape
Brewing Company Amber Weiss.
Although there is now a special emphasis
placed on food and wine pairings at Harveys, an equally delicious à la carte
menu continues to be served. The restaurant will furthermore continue to host
its unique and interactive 3G evenings in the first week of every month as it
welcomes its sister concept of beautifully paired food and wine menus offered
on a daily basis.
For those looking to enjoy a delectable
breakfast or lunch in style, the attractively redesigned Harveys menu offers a
wide range of flavourful and elegant dishes, from a full continental buffet and
other delicious breakfast options to starters and mains for lunch as well as
light salad, sandwich and desserts options. A selection of HDeli treats is now
also available.
Comments Harveys Chef
Jochen Riedel: “There are many places in Cape Town where guests can go for good
food and wine and a beautiful setting.
We are proud that, for
many years, we have been counted among these great establishments, but with
these newly designed menus, we continue on our quest to perfect that which
separates us from the rest – true experience dining.”
